New Deck Just In Time For Christmas - Looking Good
After what seemed like forever crawling around on my hands and knees, I can now stand and admire the fruits of my labour. My back however will never be the same again!

This time!
I have been experiencing problems publishing from my iPad so one more try and then it will have to be from the old steam PC.

The sun has got it's hat on hip hip hooray
Two days of bright sunshine but oh those winds.
Is it just me or do we have more weather now or am I just noticing it more.
Living on a small island like New Zealand's North Island you do of course expect it, after all we are surrounded by a lot of water.
The prevailing wind here in Auckland is the South Westerly which flings itself at you for most of the year all the way from Ossie, only when it reaches us it is robust and cold and usually comes with a lot of the wet stuff - We get on average 1240 mm per year!
This has been an extremely windy year to date and has certainly limited fishing and sailing trips to the extent where you wonder if you will ever get out again
Nature of course just gets on with it and everything is bursting with life and colour in the garden although the blossom has struggled to stay on the plum tree so a small crop is in the offing.
Into November now so here's hoping everything is crossed xxxxxxxxxxxxxx!

Weather!!!! Too Bloody Much Of It I Say
Woke up to yet another day of high winds and cool temperatures and looking out over the harbour it is a mass of white again! Must say that I am heartily sick of it after experiencing an awful Northern Hemisphere Spring and then to return home to a carbon copy!
Now I realise that you expect to get the equinoxial winds at this time of year but fair go a man can only take so much, especially when he is itching to go sailing and fishing.
And to make matters worse the fast approaching Labour Weekend holiday is not looking too flash either.

Oh! Happy Day
The weather over the Christmas/New Year period has been, quite frankly
bloody aweful with rain and high winds. Fine for the farmers to grow grass but
not much use to someone itching to get their recently renovated trailer sailer
in the water!!!!
That is until yesterday when surprise surprise the weather gods decided to give us a reprieve and open a tiny window of fair weather.
The tides, coincidentally also came to the party with a morning/evening high so the scene was set for the maiden cruise to Big Bay and back.
Suffice it to say I had a great day with the mornings North Easterlies conveniently changing in the afternoon to a South Westerly to bring me home again!
Anyway I now have a list a mile long of little things that need addressing after being field (water) tested so to speak on the water – Buy hey isn’t that why we do it?
